BARCELONA—With all the new 5G phones here at MWC19, it might have been easy to forget the first 5G device announced. Motorola's Moto Z3 5G Mod, announced last year, is a sizable "backpack" that snaps onto the rear of its midrange Z3 phone to add 5G Verizon connectivity. And Motorola wants to make it clear that it's here, it was first, and it'll have the best battery life.

"When LTE came out in 2010, consumers were lucky to get half a day of battery life, and with our 5G Moto Mod we think we solved [that,]" Doug Michaud, Moto's head of product operations said.

With the gaggle of connected home products, smart TVs, smartphones, and other mobile devices ruling our lives, it's more important than ever to outfit your home or business with a wireless router that can handle the increased demand for Wi-Fi connectivity.

When choosing a new router, you should consider the size of your coverage area and the number of clients, as well as the types of devices that will connect to the router. Granted, not everybody needs the kind of performance that you get with the latest and greatest models, and there's no reason to pay for features that you will likely never use, but if you have several family members vying for bandwidth for things like streaming video and playing Overwatch online, a new router can make a world of difference and help keep the peace.

We guide you through choosing a router that will handle your current and future wireless networking needs, and offer our top picks to get you started.

Both Samsung and Apple saw their shipments and market share slip in 2018, as Chinese brands continue to make waves in the low to mid-price segment of the market.

Still using Microsoft's Internet Explorer as your default browser? Change is good, and in this case, necessary.

In a Wednesday blog post, Microsoft Windows Principal Architect Chris Jackson urged companies to migrate to modern browsers instead of using IE as their default.

"You see, Internet Explorer is a compatibility solution," Jackson wrote. "We're not supporting new web standards for it and, while many sites work fine, developers by and large just aren't testing for Internet Explorer these days. They're testing on modern browsers."
